SilkRaven opens to studios on 30 November.

Monthly

€10 per editor a month

Billed each month, in advance.

Yearly

€8.67 per editor a month

Billed €26 a quarter, in advance, for a 12-month term. About 13% less than monthly.

Prices are in euros and are net; your bank converts at its own rate. No VAT is charged while SilkRaven uses the German small-business rule (§ 19 UStG).

Built around how studios work

A few things we chose on purpose:

  • Each game has its own line on your bill, with a label you choose, such as a purchase order number, so you can see what each game costs.
  • Editors for one game never cost more than €2,000 a month, however many people join.
  • Between projects, pause a game: it comes off your bill that day and keeps its full history, read-only, until you restart it. Any extra storage or downloads you've added keep their price, and on a yearly plan, pausing before the term ends pays back the yearly discount. For now, email hello@silkraven.com and we'll pause it for you.
  • Someone who works on three of your studio's games costs €10, not €30; their price is split across the games they work on.
  • When someone stops editing all your studio's games, your bill goes down from that day, even for a month you've already paid. People who join are free until the next count.

Who counts

Today everyone you add to a game is an editor (a producer, director, lead or contributor), so everyone you add counts. Billing people who aren't on a game are free, and viewer and playtester roles will be free when they come.

We count your editors 3 days before each bill, and that count sets the bill. On yearly, we also count before each month inside a quarter and settle any change on the next quarter's bill.

Paused and cancelled games aren't counted.

Half price for new studios

If your company is new to SilkRaven, your studio pays half its editor charges for its first 4 billing months, as long as it has 30 editors or fewer.

It's for the whole studio, not the first 30 editors: once a count shows 31 or more, every editor is full price from that bill on, and the half price doesn't come back.

On yearly, that's €13 per editor for your first quarter, €21.67 for your second, then €26 a quarter.

Extra storage and downloads are always full price.

What a studio pays

One game, everyone on it editing. Move the slider to your team's size.

  • Monthly: €200 a month
  • Yearly: €520 a quarter (€173.33 a month)
  • New studio, first 4 months: €100 a month

Two games

Mara and Jon work on Ashfall. Sam and Lea work on Ashfall and Brine. That's 4 editors, so €40 a month. Sam's and Lea's €10 are each split between the two games, so Ashfall's line is €30 and Brine's is €10.

Files, storage and downloads

Your team attaches files to work items as evidence for sign-off, such as screenshots, videos and captures. Each game includes:

  • 250 GB of stored files
  • 20 GB of downloads a month for each editor, up to 4 TB. A download is any file someone opens or downloads from SilkRaven.

A game with 20 editors, for example, gets 250 GB of storage and 400 GB of downloads each month.

If a game keeps a lot of video or large captures, or its team opens more files than that, you can add more:

AddWhat you getMonthlyYearly
Extra storage1 TB more€40 a month€104 a quarter
Extra downloads500 GB more each month€75 a month€195 a quarter

You add them to one game, and they show on that game's line of the bill. Until you can add them in Billing, email hello@silkraven.com and we'll add them for you.

We never charge for going over unless you add more. When a game's files reach 110% of its storage, uploads pause until you delete files or add storage.

Is it worth it?

SilkRaven pays for itself if it saves each editor a few minutes a week. Put in your team's average salary to see how many.

€3,680 a month × 12: the average gross salary across all roles in the German-speaking games industry (gamesmarkt salary survey, 2024). It's salary only; a person really costs your studio more, so the true break-even is lower. Change it. Source (opens in a new tab)

SilkRaven pays for itself if it saves each editor about 7 minutes a week (3 minutes during the half price).

This is where SilkRaven breaks even, not a promise of what it will save you. Nothing you type here leaves your browser.

How we worked it out
  • Hourly cost: €44,160 ÷ (52 weeks × 40 hours) = €21.23. 40 hours is our assumption for a full-time week.
  • €10 is about 28 minutes of one editor's paid time a month; 28 minutes × 12 months ÷ 52 weeks = about 7 minutes a week.
  • At the €2,000 cap, a big team pays less per editor, so it breaks even sooner.

Our pricing promises

These are part of our terms.

  1. Every price is published, with a dated history of every price and term change.
  2. Changes never apply backwards. Your price is locked for 12 months, and any later change gets 90 days' notice.
  3. Never a fee on your revenue, installs or players.
  4. Viewers, playtesters, outsourcer reviewers and publishers are always free. Each person who edits is counted once per studio, however many of its games they work on, and a game's share of the bill never goes above €2,000 a month, however many people join (storage and download packs aside).
  5. Free full export of your data, always, and for 90 days after you leave.
  6. Pause a game between projects at no monthly fee. It comes off your bill the day you pause it, stays read-only with its full history, and can restart any time. Its people only count if they edit another of your games. Included storage stays free; any extra storage packs keep their normal price. On a yearly plan, pausing before the term ends pays back the yearly discount.
  7. Billing counts team totals only, never who did what.
  8. Cancel a game or close your studio at any time, with no fee, and change your mind until the next monthly count. Time you've already paid for comes back to you with your next bill, or lowers a bill you haven't paid yet. The games stay as free read-only archives for 12 months, and a cancelled game can come back during that time. On a yearly plan, bringing it back in the same yearly term pays back the yearly discount. After the 12 months you have 90 days to ask for an export, and then they're deleted.
  9. When someone stops editing all of your studio's games, your bill goes down from that day, even for a month you've already paid for. The difference comes back to you with your next bill, or lowers a bill you haven't paid yet. A game that is still at its €2,000 cap without them stays at the cap. People who join are free until the next monthly count.
  10. Studios at companies new to SilkRaven get 30 days free, with no card needed. After that, studios of up to 30 editors pay half price for their first 4 months. Storage and download packs are full price. We check at each monthly count: if you pass 30 editors, full price starts from the next bill.

Questions

What happens when the trial ends?

If a billing person hasn't chosen a plan, all your studio's games become read-only together. Everyone can still view them, comment and ask for an export. Choosing a plan later starts the bill that day.

Do we need a card for the trial?

No. A billing person adds a card when they choose a plan; nothing is charged before the trial ends.

Can we switch between monthly and yearly?

Yes, until 3 days before your first bill, when we count your editors. A yearly term renews for 12 months unless you switch to monthly before it ends; we remind you 30 days before.

How do we pay?

By card, through Stripe. Each studio gets one bill per period, with one line for each game.

Can we get our data out?

Yes. A full export is free, always, and for 90 days after you leave. For now, email kat@silkraven.com, the address our privacy policy gives for anything about your data, and we'll send it to you.

Where is our data kept?

In the EU, in Ireland. Security and data explains how we protect it.

What if we need something different?

Email hello@silkraven.com.
